Matrumandir, Devrukh is soon to completed 66 years of its eventful career. Late Smt. Indirabai Halbe, a founder member also popularly known, as “Maushi” has been a moving spirit behind it. Matrumandir started as a two cots materinity home way back in 1954 and now it is a center of development activities benefiting the most vulnerable sections of the rural society, i.e. poor and needy women, farmers, destitute children, unemployed youths and many deprived.
Matrumandir has now branched off in the directions of child care, rural development, job oriented training, agricultural and horticultural development, social welfare activities, employment referral services, guidance on management issues to youths to bring about a qualitative change in the lives of the poor and needy. The approach has stood the test of time.
